Tilted Shadow
2025
Handmodelled in stoneware, with terra sigillata.
Tilted Shadow explores the relationship between light, object, and shadow—and how shadows, often seen as fleeting and intangible, can be transformed into physical and lasting forms. The starting point is a fascination with how shadow figures become distorted depending on the angle between the light source and the object. This phenomenon is translated into a ceramic expression, where the shadow is not merely a byproduct of form but becomes the essence of the form itself. The work creates a dialogue between the material and the immaterial, the visible and the suggested—where the shadow becomes form, and the form casts new shadows.
The production was supported by Ellen og Knud Dalhoff Larsens Fond.
