TERRAIN is a large-scale ceramic relief composed of traces and imprints created as residents of Nye moved across a field of soft clay soil, leaving behind their incividual footprints.

The 1.6 m x 9.0 m field of imprints was then cast on site in coloured ceramic concrete and transported to the Tommerup ceramic workshop, where the relief was completed using clay collected in Nye and fired in fifteen sections in the workshop’s large kiln.

The work is integrated into an open passage in one of the long houses in Nye. Installed in the ceiling, the relief invits viwers to look upward and engage with material, space, and time through a sensory experience.

Nye is a new residential area under development by Tækker Group.
