TERRAIN is a large ceramic relief of traces and imprints where residents of Nye moved across a field of soft clay soil, leaving behind their personal and varied footprints. The 1.6 m x 9.0 m field of imprints was then cast in coloured ceramic concrete on-site, transported to the Tommerup ceramic workshop, where the relief was finished using clay collected in Nye and fired in fifteen sections in the workshop’s large kiln.

The work is integrated into an open passage in one of the terraced houses in Nye. The relief is installed in the ceiling, inviting us to look up and engage with the material, space, and time through a sensory experience.

Nye is a new residential area under development by Tækker Group.
